Leading Abroad: Summers with a Purpose
Leading with Love is proud to announce our upcoming 2026 Cultural Immersion. This program seeks to provide young women leaders from our underserved South Florida communities with an authentic cross-cultural experience. In June 2026, our cohort will travel to Portugal to engage in a journey of service, exploration, and self-discovery.
This experience allows participants to explore and understand how interactions with individuals from different cultures benefit their development as global leaders. By pushing beyond the boundaries of their comfort zones, our participants discover the beauty and diversity of the world while making a tangible impact through service.
Our mission is to provide life-changing opportunities for growth to young girls who may not otherwise have access to international travel. Through this immersion, we aim to broaden horizons, instill a sense of cultural awareness and empathy, and inspire our participants to become compassionate leaders inside and outside of their communities. While abroad, participants immerse themselves in the local culture, connect with peers from diverse backgrounds, and develop essential leadership and teamwork skills that will serve them for a lifetime.
Program Details:
Community Service & Global Impact
- Engage in meaningful service projects tailored to the needs of the local community.
- Foster cross-cultural exchange through collaborative workshops.
- Apply leadership skills to address global challenges within region.
STEM & Educational Exchange
- Facilitate interactive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) workshops.
- Build connections with local students and community members.
Cultural & Environmental Exploration
- Discover the rich history, architecture, and traditions of Portugal.
- Engage with local leaders to better understand the region’s culture and the social and economic factors shaping its future.
- Explore the unique natural landscapes and environments of the region.
Journalism & Reflection
- Daily Contributions: Participants use daily prompts to document their growth & process cultural experiences through their Journey Blog.
- Global Voice: Personal reflections and stories are published to our website to share the impact with our community back home.
Physical & Mental Wellness
- Daily Mindfulness: Dedicated time for meditation and reflection.
- Wellness Practice: Daily yoga and mindfulness sessions to maintain balance during the journey.
Leadership Development
- Leadership Institute: A comprehensive 2-month Leadership Institute program prior to departure.
- Cohort Service Project: A global community service project designed and executed by the participants to build teamwork and global impact.
